The Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology and the Crump Institute for Molecular Imaging is seeking an motivated Research Fund Administrator to join our team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the chosen candidate will assume the vital role of leading the post-awards office and managing the post-award portfolio for the Department. As the Research Administrator 4, your main responsibilities will involve the preparation and submission of approximately 100 proposals per year in accordance with agency guidelines and institutional policies and procedures. You will collaborate closely with the Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) and the department's post-award fund management teams to effectively resolve any grant-related issues. Additionally, your duties will include reviewing snapshots, interpreting terms and conditions, providing consultation to faculty and fund managers regarding award terms and expenditure eligibility, and acting as the department's representative in interactions with external entities such as federal agencies (e.g. NIH, DOD, NSF), private foundations, and professional organizations like the Society of Research Administrators (SRA) and the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA). Required: * Problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure; * Manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; * Uses advanced contracts and grants concepts to manage high volume and high complexity transactions; * Review and guide others in the review of financial and administrative management requirements of research contract and grant proposals, awards, and / or transactions to ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor policies; * Works independently to assess complex grant, contract and subcontract transactions where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors; * Serve as technical specialist in a particular area, such as federal contracts, state contracts, subcontracts or information systems; * Leads activities around the organization, planning, establishment and monitoring of fiscal budget control of contracts and grants administration, submissions, budgets, support documents, gifts, endowments, and privately funded projects for faculty research programs; * Provides highly complex projections, analysis and recommendations; * Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize job functions to meet deadlines and ensure smooth workflow, and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; * Interpersonal skills to work effectively and manage group process in an academic environment; * Demonstrated knowledge of Windows systems with Word, Excel, Access; * Ability to interpret and apply UC, federal and state policies regarding contract and grant administration; * Ability to supervise staff, including training, assignment, review and evaluation. * Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; 5+ year of experience in Fund Management role.
