Anesthesiologist Physician - (Anesthesiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate:! 08/26/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
An anesthesiologist is needed to provide services at this Western North Carolina hospital on a locum tenens basis until a permanent candidate can be identified. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. On call coverage will be required in rotation with other anesthesiologists.
As a critical care specialist responsible for pain management and the maintenance of vital life functions, anesthesiologists(locum tenens) are an integral part of the operating room. Anesthesiologists meet with patients in a preoperative setting to determine the best and safest course of action for pain management during the medical procedure, evaluating the patient's medical history in order to come up with the optimal course of action. During medical procedures, anesthesiologists monitor heart rate, blood pressure and other bodily functions and administer appropriate anesthesia.
Required Qualifications
The p! hysician shall be Board Certified by the American Board of Ane! sthesiology. Additionally, the hospital requires certification in TEE as well as current BLS, ACLS, and DEA certificates. While the physician does not need to be fellowship trained, he or she must have the skills necessary to perform cardiac cases.
