Job Summary
Provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, outcomes identification, implementation, and evaluation in the Faculty Physicians Network Practice setting in accordance with the policies and procedures under the supervision of the supervisor and manager of the ambulatory care practice.
Essential Functions
- Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
- Implements identified plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Performs and assists with treatments, therapies, and procedures and administers medication.
- Provides education and counseling to patients and families regarding identified health needs, health care activities, immunizatio! n requirements, medication effects and side-effects, counselin! g, treatment, and contraindications and evaluates the patients/families responses.
- Documents current clinical assessment and care provided in the medical record.
- Identifies and relates results of diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Organizes and manages health care and clinical activities carried out during the patient visit.
- Plans and presents educational programs and integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
- Coordinates PI activities.
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 75 pounds in handling of patients and medical equipment and supplies. Possesses an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Has the ability to concentrate. Responds quickly to changes in patient and clinic conditions. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and mask! s are sometimes required due to possible exposure to hazardous chemical or blood and body fluids. Work is in a fast-paced clinical environment
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. Current licensure to practice as a RN or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of NC. Experience and/or certification in area of specialty preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required. Part-time RN Patient care in operating room during surgical procedures Pre-operative and post-operative transport of patients Pre-operative and post-operative care of patients with CRNA Operating room set-up and turnover between cases Assisting with patient pre-op and post-op calls Equipment stocking as needed
