Position Description:
The Surgical Neurophysiologist is an integral part of the surgical team, and works closely with the Anesthesiologist or Anesthetist, the surgeons, and other members of the team. The Neurophysiologist performs! testing and monitoring of the nervous system during surgery t! o assist the surgeons in avoiding or reducing complications such as paralysis, hearing loss, or stroke (depending on the type of surgery), by detecting incipient injury in time to prevent or ameliorate it. Surgical Neurophysiology also provides information to the surgeon for use in intraoperative decision-making.
Requirements:
- CNIM, DABNM preferred with Bachelors degree. Will consider graduate from an accredited CAHAPP training program with a Neurodiagnostic Board Certification
- The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Biology or other life science as well as have excellent computer skills
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Neurophysiologist/Monitorist
- The ability to be flexible with time and scheduling is a must
- Flexibility of working schedule is important
