Provide a full range of Anesthesiologist services in
accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding
Officer! .
Perform as a principal treating physician to technically
direct a multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with
other health care providers and providing consultative
services pursuant to optimal health care delivery to the
patient suffering from pain.
Job Requirements:
Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine (MD) from an
accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on
Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical
Association, a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy (DO) from
a college accredited by the American Osteopathic
Association, or permanent certification by the
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates
(ECFMG).
Have documented successful completion of an
Anesthesiology residency program which has been approved
by one of the following: (a) the Accreditation Council
for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME); (b) the
Committee on Postdoctoral Training of! the American
Osteopathic Association; (c) those Canadian ! training
programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical
authority.
Successful completion of 12 months of full-time training
in an Anesthesiology fellowship program accredited by
ACGME.
Possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted
license (corresponding to the specialty required by the
task order) in one of the fifty States, the District of
Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the
U.S. Virgin Islands.
Possess and maintain a current Board Certification in
Anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology
or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology.
Possess four years of clinical work experience within
the preceding ten years with at least two years caring
for patients of American Society of Anesthesiology
Physical Status Classification System ASA 1- ASA 4 and
at least two years providing pain manage! ment services to
patients with complex pain conditions.
Possess and maintain a current Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) certification.
Possess and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Agency
(DEA) registration number (certificate) to prescribe
controlled substances as listed in 21 C.F.R. 1308.
